Photos and text about Almira Brown Snow
Almira M. Brown Snow
Almira’s parents were Edward and Pamela Billings Brown. She was born 28 Feb 1835 at the Brown home on Caterpillar Hill in Sedgwick and died in Sedgwick 22 Feb 1903. On Apr. 7, 1872 she married Joshua Snow who had previously been married to (1) Lydia Billings, died Mar. 6, 1851, and (2) Elizabeth E. Nichols, died March 1870. Joshua had 13 children at the time he married Almira, four of whom were under the age of 20.
Almira and Joshua had one daughter, Amelia Emma Snow, but she died when just a few days old.1
Almira spent her married life in Brooksville but she outlived her husband by 17 years and the fact that she is buried in Forest Home Cemetery suggests she may have spent her last years with family in Sedgwick. Joshua died Aug 17, 1886 and is buried in Mt. Rest, in Brooksville.
