Captain G. Richard Currier (b. 24 Dec 1835) was a master of coastal schooners.

Crooker which transported freight such as wood and granite along the Eastern seaboard. Richard was first married to Mary Volusia Hooper, born 28 May 1850, but she died of tuberculosis at the age of 24.  He then married Dora Sawyer. Like his first wife and Dora’s father, Richard died of tuberculosis. He was 50 years old at the time of his death in 1885.
