A Martha Washington Society in Sedgwick? (SOC.9)

A note dated 1844 suggests the start of a Martha Washington Society in Sedgwick.

The following note, dated 1844, seems out of context, but it was among the Sewing Circle and Library Association organizational papers.  It appears to be documentation by an unknown author of the founding of a Sedgwick branch of the Martha Washington Society which was the ladies version of the Sons of Temperance.  Three years later  Wyer G. Sargent, et al. started the Sons of Temperance Society in Sedgwick but nowhere in their minutes is there any mention of this ladies group. The Library has no other documentation of a Martha Washington Society in Sedgwick.
