Riverside Hall was the site of community activities, including plays and dances.  In his journal Wyer G. Sargent writes that on August 27th, 1886 he attended an Eaton family gathering at Riverside Hall.  Later, on December 6th, 1892 he says he went to the Masons’ convention which was held in that same place.
