Sargentville Library Building Documents (GOV.14)

Plans and documents related to library construction

Information about library financial support and some of the building materials and services used.

Lida Harkness, Annie Conaway’s great Aunt, was a well-educated lady from away who had the means and the friends to provide financial and other support for the library project.  She and her sister, Julia Harkness Sweet, were strong supporters and good friends of the ladies planning to build the library. In this letter to Dora Currier she writes of the financial support that would be available locally and from friends “from away” if the town were to commit to building the library within a reasonable time frame.
