Sewell was born in Sedgwick 20 September, 1865 to Salome Brown Peters (1825-1888) and Moses Pillsbury Peters (1827-1903) and died 19 April 1948. He married 1) Clara F. Gray (1860-1897) on 16 May 1895 and 2) Lucy Jane Gray (1866-1961) on 13 Dec 1905.   They had a daughter Ethel May Peters (1908-1998).1

Moses’ grandparents were Daniel Peters from Blue Hill and Phebe Billings Peters, the daughter of Benjamin and Abigail Closson Billings.

Sewell’s parents and grandparents lived in the home called “The Anchorage” which was built across the road from the Sargentville Chapel in about 1812 by Samuel Billings,2 or by Abel and Benjamin Billings3.
