4 Voted to appropriate the sum of seventy three cents __ percentage to the Grand Division

Third Took up and discussed the Resolution numbered 75, reading as follows: Resolved that much more is to be gained in advancing the principles of Temperance and Moral Reform by moral suasion, than by legal suasion.

3d Heard remarks on the order of Temperance Watchmen and the expediency of introducing it among us from Bros SG Philbrook, GW Sargent, Wm Bunker and WG Sargent
4th Took up and discussed Resolve marked 78. Viz. Reading as follows Resolved that education does more toward forming the character of men than disposition Rejected
5 Received a resolve marked 81 from Bro C Billings Reading as follows viz, Resolve that the the discovery of the California Gold mines will not be beneficial to the world.

5th Received a Resolution Number 82 reading as follows: viz, Resolves that the eye contributes more than the ear in storing the human mind with knowledge.
6th voted that Bro Bunker bring in a resolve to be discussed next in order.

At a regular meeting opened by the WP the following business was transacted; viz
First Voted to excuse absentees of last meeting who were present.
Second Heard and accepted the report of F. Committee on subject of the paper.
Third Accepted the offer of Bro Sawyer to keep a record of the names of members present and such other things as he may think best; and also keep a list of the numbers and charges them with papers by their numbers which he shall let them have in such order as he may think fit; provided that no brother shall receive any paper while a number stands charged against him.
Fourth Received and accepted for discussion the following Resolutions numbered as follows; viz
No 83 Resolve that whipping children is not right; and ought not to be practiced Wm Bunker
No. 84 Resolved that dancing is necessary K. Penney
No. 85 Resolved that the education of the feelings is more needed than learning the arts and sciences Wm Bunker

Third voted to suspend Bro Kingsbury, K Morgan for nonpayment of dues
Fourth voted to suspend Bro John Eaton 2nd for nonpayment of dues
Fifth Received and accepted for discussion the following resolution numbered as follows
No 86 Resolve that woman has been the cause of more good in the great work of temperance than man. Geo M. Sargent

7 Voted to amend the By-laws of this Division as suggested by the Grand Scribe in his circular dated October 21, 1852 which amendment reads as follows viz…
Sec 1 The initiation fees of this Division shall be $2.00 And immediately after initiation an order shall be drawn on the __, in favor of each brother initiated for 1.75
Sec 2 The regular dues of the members of this Division shall be sixty cents per qtr. But he shall be required to pay only his proportional parts of the incidental expenses, and five percent to the O. D. quarterly. It shall be the duty of the RS and GS to determine what each of the member’s proportion is. And the GS shall balance each members account when it is paid, and such brother shall be entitled to the loss money.
Sec 3 In case of the death of a brother in regular standing in the Division, each Brother shall pay to the T. 25 cents who shall pay the same to the family of the deceased.
Sec 4 The widow and orphans of any deceased brother in regular standing at the time of his death, shall be visited by a special committee of three, at such times and receive such assistance as the Division as the Division may direct.
Benefits
Sec 1 No brother shall be entitled to benefits in this Division, unless he shall pay to the T twenty five cents per week, taking his receipt therof, and in case of the sickness of such brother he shall receive weekly one dollar.
